Terms and Conditions- The contest starts on Tuesday 30 August, 2011 and closes midnight, Monday 3 October, 2011.
- Entry to this competition is FREE.
- Entry is open to residents of Australia only.
- Only images taken of pets and companion animals (dogs, cats, horses, cage birds, rabbits, reptiles, fish etc) will be accepted. The pet doesn’t have to be yours, but you must have permission from the pet owner and any people in the photo, to take the photo and submit it to this competition.
- Entries submitted must not have won any other photographic competition, either locally or internationally. Please retain the original digital file for reference; it may be needed to demonstrate this is your own work before your prize is awarded.
- This competition is open to amateur photographers only. Professionals or semi-professionals are not permitted. If you have won a competition before, you can still enter, but if you have sold any of your photos for a profit in the last year, you no longer qualify as an amateur with regards to this contest.
- Photographs with text added to the image will not be accepted (date stamps automatically added by the camera are permitted).
- VetShopAustralia reserves the right to reject submissions that do not conform to these official rules; do not comply with Australian legal requirements or do not meet VetShopAustralia's technical or editorial specifications or for any other reason as VetShopAustralia sees fit.
- Photos may only be submitted by the photographer or his or her authorised representative. It is the entrant's responsibility to ensure that all the necessary permissions are obtained from any people and the owners of the animals featured in their photograph(s).
- Entries must be posted electronically using the form provided at VetShopAustralia or through the VetShopAustralia Facebook Page. Entries cannot be emailed, posted or submitted any other way.
- Submissions can only be digital and must be in jpeg format (unzipped) with a maximum file size of 2 MB.
- The maximum number of images a photographer may enter during the competition is 5 and an individual is not eligible to win more than one prize.
- By entering the competition, you agree to these terms and conditions and give VetShopAustralia a non-exclusive licence to publish any submitted photo on our website and blog, in electronic and printed promotional material for VetShopAustralia as well as exhibition spaces such as pet shows and in those cases there will be no payment for the use of the photos.
- If you submit via Facebook and are selected as one of the finalists, you must, if requested by us email us the original high resolution photo together with your name and contact details.
- The Most Popular Pet category will go to the photo in the VetShopAustralia Official Facebook Photo Competition Album which receives the most "Likes". All other entries will be judged by, and winners selected by, the VetShopAustralia team. No correspondence will be entered into. All decisions of the judges are final, and not subject to review.
- Prize winners will be announced on our website and on our VetShopAustralia Facebook page in October 2011 and winners will also be notified via email after judging has taken place.
- Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or convertible for cash. In the event that VetShopAustralia is unable to provide a prize as described for reasons outside its control, VetShopAustralia may at its absolute discretion substitute some other item or items of equivalent or greater retail value.
- Where a prize is a year's supply of a product e.g. Frontline Plus for Dogs, that is one year's supply for one dog and the winner then nominates the size of dog e.g. small, medium, large or extra large. Prize value quoted is based on "extra large dog" and actual value will be less if you choose a supply for a smaller dog.
- The prize for the Best Other Pet Photo includes one Kong Product up to the value of $40, which means that the winner will get to choose any Kong product on the VetShopAustralia.com.au website up to $40. Likewise, the Best Other Pet Photo Runner-up will get to choose any Kong product on the VetShopAustralia.com.au website up to $30.
- If there is any event that prevents or hinders VetShopAustralia's conduct of the competition or VetShopAustralia's ability to deliver the prizes to the prize winners of the competition, VetShopAustralia may, in its discretion, cancel the competition and recommence it at another time under the same conditions or select another winner.
- VetShopAustralia is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this competition, or for any technical error that may occur in the course of the administration of this competition. VetShopAustralia assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.
- To the full extent permitted by the law, VetShopAustralia will not be liable for any injury, damages, expenses, or loss whatsoever (whether direct or inconsequential) to persons or property as a result of any person entering into the competition or accepting or using any prize, including without limitation non-receipt of any prize or damage to any prize in transit.
