Ball-obsessed Banjo is a 9-year-old Kelpie who has been surfing with owner Chris since he was just 1 year old. Chris says Banjo never used to be keen on going in the water, and would wait on the sand while Chris caught waves. Until one day, Banjo popped up in the water next to him, and the rest is history! Now a seasoned competitor and winner of the 2019 Best Wave Award, when he isn't surfing, Banjo loves spending time with his family at the park or the beach.

New to the Surfing Dog pack last year and not to be mistaken for 2021 Champion Pickles, is Freddy the Pug! Trained by none other than Paul "Jonesy" Jones, three-time Surfing Dog Championships Best Wave Award winner and owner of Hugsley, this is sure to make Freddy a strong contender for the 2023 trophy. Freddy will be accompanied on the board by Opal, who usually rides with dad Jonesy and dog Hugs, and friend Lily, a first time competitor.

Fascinated by the waves and the thrill of riding them, she has spent countless hours in the water perfecting her technique and working on her balance and coordination. As the step-sister to legendary surfing dog champ Porkchops, Cheech has big paws to fill, but she's more than up for the challenge.
