On March 9th, Noosa Main Beach was the scene for our much-loved annual Surfing Dog Championships. Despite the weather throwing us a mix of rain and challenging winds, the atmosphere remained upbeat. Luckily, the clouds parted long enough for the 3,000 fans to enjoy the spectacle of dogs and their owners taking on the waves.

This year, we hit a new high with 13 teams from across Australia—WA, VIC, NSW, and, of course, our local talent—making waves. The sea may not have sparkled as much as in previous years, and the conditions were a bit rough, but that didn't stop our participants from giving their all.

Among the newcomers, James and his dog Taro really stood out. It was Taro's fifth time surfing, and their performance was something to remember. They're definitely ones to watch in the future.

Bear and Isaac, with Isaac being our youngest competitor at 16, impressed everyone by taking on some of the most challenging waves with ease.

After taking a break for two years, Team Banjo returned in style, earning themselves a memorable mention for the most spectacular wipeout.

Team Sunny

Team Loui

Team Duke

New faces like Team Sunny brought fresh energy, backed by an enthusiastic support team, and Team Loui from Byron Bay showed us what they've got in this year's championship. We also paid tribute to Hugsley, a veteran surfing champ, by cheering on his brother Duke as he tried to follow in his big paw prints.

Rama gave us one last ride to remember before passing the baton to his little bro, signaling a rad change of guard.

Team Happy

Team Bu

With so much talent on display, choosing a winner was no easy task. Team Happy from Western Australia showcased impressive skills and tricks, making it a close competition. But in the end, it was Team Bu who took home the title of 2024 Surfing Dog Champions.

As we look forward to the next chapter, the anticipation is already building. We're eager to reunite with these incredible surfing dogs and their devoted owners, ready for another year of thrilling rides. Here's to another year of paws on boards, and the continuous celebration of the unique bond between dogs and their human companions.
